Our Process
Navya Gems & Jewels: A Craftsmanship Journey
At Navya Gems & Jewels, every piece is crafted with precision and care. From The Sketch to The Plaster Mold, The Wax Tree, and The Gold Tree Assembly, we meticulously bring designs to life. With expert Gem Setting and Final Touches, each creation becomes a masterpiece of elegance and craftsmanship.
01
The Sketch
Almost all jewelry begins with a sketch of the piece. The most important stage in the jewelry-making process is the design or CAD drawing, which serves as the final blueprint for the entire creation. Every subsequent process revolves around this stage. As no editing is possible later on, we place great emphasis on getting it right the first time. Designs are often drawn from multiple perspectives to ensure accuracy, as jewelry is inherently three-dimensional in concept.
02
The Rubber Mold
The rubber mold is crafted from the cam piece as per the CAD design. The original model is encased in a plaster-like investment, specially formulated for jewelry making.
03
The Wax Model
In this stage, the wax mold is crafted in accordance with the rubber mold. The sketched design is carefully carved into shape using special jeweler's wax. This model must be perfect and flawless in every detail, as the final piece will only be as good as the model itself.
04
The Gold Tree
Once the casting is complete, the "fruits" of the jewelry — the gold pieces — are now ready for further assembly.
05
Assembly & Crafting
Once all the jewelry pieces are cast and pre-polished, they move to the assembly stage. By carefully joining all the individual components, the pieces are crafted into the final shape, reflecting the original design. At this stage, the jewelry is complete in form but without the stones.
06
The Wax Tree
The wax model, made from the rubber mold, will now be joined together and formed into a wax tree.
07
The Plaster Mould
The wax tree is placed into a plaster vessel and then heated in a furnace, causing the wax to melt. After heating, the plaster hardens, taking the shape of the wax tree.
08
The Pour
Now, the plaster that has taken the shape of the wax tree is ready for casting. This will now be made into a Gold Tree.
09
Setting Gems
Now that the jewelry piece is pre-finished, it's time to add the sparkle. The jewelry then goes through the gem setting process, where exquisite, high-quality stones are used to enhance the appeal, lustre, and sparkle of the piece as it moves towards its final stages of creation. Gem setters are the skilled craftsmen who firmly capture the gems in the metal, ensuring each stone is perfectly placed to maximize its brilliance.
Final Touches at Navya Gems & Jewels
Polishing for Perfection
Once the jewelry piece is complete, it undergoes a final polish to enhance its luster and shine. This is achieved by applying fine red jeweler's rouge on a soft cotton cloth and buffing the piece by hand, ensuring every detail and highlight gleams beautifully.
Stringent Quality Check
At Navya, quality is paramount. Our dedicated quality control team meticulously examines each piece at every stage of the process, ensuring it meets our high standards before moving to the next step.
Commitment to Excellence
We strive to deliver only the finest, expertly crafted jewelry to our valued customers, ensuring that each piece is a true work of art, refined to perfection.
